PhD Candidate, Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering, ETH Zurich

Gotthold’s research interest lies within the application and research of mechanical oscillators as sensors. Formerly he worked in the field of optomechanics at low temperatues and ultra-high vacuum conditions. Currently, he is using his knowledge in the field of biophysics where he researches the mass determination of living cells using photothermally acutated micro-oscillators. Moreover he investigates ways to dynamically characterize cell mechanical properties using coupled mechanical oscillators. His work is theoretical and experimental.
