Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, we are organizing a hackathon Hack & SEED, focus of which is on the adoption of cutting-edge technologies such as AI and blockchain.
The hackathon takes place in Alpine Davos, Switzerland. Approximately 50 developers will form teams of 2-4 people and work together on sponsored technical challenges or their own ideas.
Hack & SEED happens in parallel to the SEED2019 Symposium and Think Tank, which are pioneering innovation in the research sector through decentralized technologies.

For the avoidance of doubt, all Intellectual Property Rights in the entry shall remain vested in the entrant(s) who created them or, in the case of Intellectual Property Rights owned by any third party or parties, such third party or parties. Validity Labs AG accepts no liability for any disagreement among team members regarding ownership of any Intellectual Property Rights contained in any entry including, without limitation, the winning entry or for any inaccurate or incorrect information supplied or relied upon by any entrant during the Hackathon.
You acknowledge and agree that a third party may produce similar ideas or concepts during the Hackathon. You also acknowledge and agree that Validity Labs AG, as a company with a strong reputation for innovation, may be working on similar ideas independently whether now or in the future. You agree not to make any claims or demands of any nature against Validity Labs AG in relation to your participation or contribution in Hackathon.
Copyright Participant represents and warrants that he or she is the sole author and copyright owner of the Submission, and that the Submission is an original work of the Participant, or if the Submission is a work based on an existing application, that the Participant has acquired sufficient rights to use and to authorize others, including the Climate Action Hackathon, to use the Submission, as specified in the “Intellectual Property Rights” section of the Rules; and that the Submission does not infringe upon any copyright or upon any other third party rights of which the Participant is aware, and that the Submission is free of malware. By submitting a Climate Action Hackathon Scholarship Proposal, Climate Action Hackathon product or accepting any monetary or non-monetary prize, you represent and warrant the following: (1) you will not submit content that is copyrighted, protected by trade secret or otherwise subject to third party intellectual property rights or other proprietary rights, including privacy and publicity rights, unless you are the owner of such rights or have permission from their rightful owner to post the content and to grant Event Organizers all of the rights granted herein; (2) you will not publish falsehoods or misrepresentations that could damage UNDP, Climate Action Hackathon, Sponsors, or any third party; (3) you will not submit content that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, libelous, threatening, pornographic, harassing, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, or encourages conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, violate any law, or is otherwise inappropriate or destructive to Climate Action Hackathon or UNDPs brand image or goodwill; (4) you will not post advertisements or solicitations of business; (5) Climate Action Hackathon will not be obligated to pay any compensation to, or permit any participation by, any third party in connection with the use, reproduction, modification, publication, display or other exploitation of any of the content that you submit; (6) the content submitted by you does not contain any viruses, Trojan horses, worms or other disabling devices or harmful code, and (7) you must not claim or imply that UNDP endorses your product or submission or use UNDPs logo(s) or trademark(s) in conjunction with such use.
8 Entries must be presented in English or if in another language, must be accompanied by a simultaneous English translation.
9 Entries must not:
9.1. Be defamatory of any person.
9.2. Be obscene, offensive, hateful or inflammatory.
9.3. Promote sexually explicit material, violence, discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age.
9.4. Infringe any copyright, design, database right or trade mark or any other Intellectual Property Rights of any other person.
9.5. Be likely to deceive any person or be misrepresentative.
9.6. Be made in breach of any legal duty owed to a third party, such as a contractual duty or a duty of confidence.
9.7. Promote any illegal activity.
9.8. Be threatening, abusive or invade another’s privacy, or cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety.
9.9. Advocate, promote or assist any unlawful act such as (by way of example only) infringement of Intellectual Property Rights or computer misuse.
